Double release from Facepalm Scans. Only 4 months since last release… Oops.

When somebody said 15 needs “some redraws” last time, I’d say that was an understatement.

So, enjoy. About volume numbering, this is first chapter of vol4 while last chapter of vol3 is 18. Silly isn’t it?

There’s some weird bits in original art, which we choose not to fix. Find the rest 😉

Weird. You’re still doing Tsugumomo even though it’s licensed?

  2. goomber says:

    Thanks for the release.

    @dosetsu,
normally I would be somewhat against releasing a licensed series myself (especially since JManga appears to be available globally) but…

When Facepalm Scans releases faster than the people I’m willing to pay, it scares me a bit. No offense to them (only group willing to do Tsugumomo and Lotte!) intended, of course.

JManga added Tsugumomo’s first release around March 2011.
Volume 2 came out literally about a year later.
Nothing about single chapter releases or volume 3’s date since.

That’s just bad. I’m a patient person, but that’s releasing…what, six chapters a year? We got people running solo on BT translating four _light novels_ in that time period.

Not to mention, JManga’s version looks like shit: http://www.monkeyvoodoo.net/misc/tsugumomo_jmanga_vs_opposed.png

    • dosetsu says:

Except, that isn’t true. Facepalm is releasing at a slower pace than JManga, and that’s especially so when you consider that Tsugumomo was part of beta JManga’s line up.

JManga has released two full volumes of Tsugumomo in less than two years. That’s 11 chapters. Facepalm has released three chapters over the span of seven months. If you add in opposed, 11 chapters over three years. Add in AnimeSigma, 15 chapters over three and a half years.

JManga already has Facepalm beat, but it will surpass Facepalm plus the other two scanlators in the coming months.

No need to get bent out of shape, son. What I said is true, but I’ll conceded that I worded it poorly. JManga has had Tsugumomo since around March 11. They have released one volume since then, bringing the total up to two volumes. That does NOT include the translation time used for volume one, because we have no way of determining how long it took them to translate it. Other than that JManga “existed” in summer of 2010. And they have not indicated when they will release anymore.

The first chapter of volume three was released by scan groups four months after JManga released Volume 2. Who finished Volume 2 a month before JManga did. 08/29/10 – 02/07/11 is a long time. But that took JManga 03/??/11 – 03/22/12. Which is real slow in my book. Maybe they just put off translating it until 02/22/12, I dunno. But that’s still delaying releases for no good reason.

No real complaints about the quality, although being forced to use a web viewer is a bit annoying.
